15 December 2022

The aim of the study was to assess the level of knowledge of and compliance with patient rights in Poland. A 100-person group of patients (men and women) ranging in age from 19 to 84 years participated in the study. During the study, the respondents were asked about their knowledge of the various rights to which patients are entitled in our country. The respondents also gave their opinion on whether or not individual rights are respected towards them. The research was carried out using a self-administered questionnaire and several demographic variables were also analysed. The calculations were made using the IBM SPSS Statistics 20 package. "Our own research showed that patients from the youngest group and those with a university education had the highest knowledge of the rights guaranteed by the Act; patients with a high level of education also rated the level of respect for these rights towards themselves highest.
