Man and bioethics

14 December 2022

The book covers anthropological, philosophical and theological reflection focusing on the three stages of human life, taking into account important contemporary ethical issues related to its beginning (e.g. diagnosis and treatment of human infertility, napro-technology, NPR, contraception or abortion), its duration (e.g. homosexuality, transsexuality, paedophilia, plastic medicine or doping in sport) and its end (e.g. the right to die with dignity vs. homosexuality, transsexualism, paedophilia, plastic medicine or doping in sport) and termination (e.g. the right to die with dignity versus euthanasia, the phenomenon of suicide, prevention and response strategies in the event of a student suicide attempt). These issues are discussed both in theoretical terms and with a historical overview. The study is enriched with quotations from the texts of the Magisterium of the Church and international legal and ethical documents, basic literature on the subject and a glossary of selected biological and medical terms, making it an excellent synthesis of knowledge in the field of bioethics and a source of information useful in every discussion and work connected with bioethical issues.
