Ethical standards and the development of modern medicine

In his activity, the doctor has the right to choose from all kinds of treatment options. However, when it comes to deciding according to one's conscience and morals, the law sets certain limits. This is understandable, as in this freedom one cannot deviate from the guiding objective of non-maleficence. Can moral norms change with the development of medicine? This is inevitable, and so the legislator - in order to adapt to constant progress - introduces the regulation of the conscience clause. It cannot, however, be absolute and contains limitations in order to maintain a compromise between human well-being and the moral principles of the doctor.https://www.ceeol.com/search/article-detail?id=730312
