This book discusses legal and ethical issues concerning, inter alia, procreation, transplantology, thanatology, medical experiments (mainly in the field of genetics), medical error and medical confidentiality. The most important contemporary Polish and international documents related to medical ethics are also presented. The range of changes is considerable, as almost all national legislation has been amended or supplemented over several years since the first edition of the handbook. To a lesser extent, international documents have been affected.
The author has taken care to ensure that the saturation of the handbook with references to laws, regulations or conventions does not overshadow its humanistic character.
The book is enriched by examples from the professional practice of the author himself and other doctors and nurses.
The publication is primarily aimed at doctors and medical students, but may also be of use to other healthcare professionals.
