Social, Psychological, and Philosophical Reflections on Pandemics and Beyond

19 December 2022

This conceptual paper presents social, psychological and philosophical (ethical and epistemological) reflections on the current pandemic (COVID-19) using an analytical and comparative approach. Suggestions are made for current and future relevant practice, policy, research and education. For example, highly exposed and vulnerable populations, such as health care workers and socially disadvantaged people (homeless and others), respectively, are treated as requiring special attention. In conclusion, more reflection and research is needed on the social and psychological challenges as well as the underlying philosophical issues related to the current pandemic and more generally to global crises.
