Patient Satisfaction in Obstetrics and Gynecology: Individualized Patient-centered Communication

This article focuses on a review of current methods of improving patient satisfaction in obstetrics and gynaecology with the intention of further increasing satisfaction by improving and combining strategies used to date. Research indicating the importance of patient satisfaction, factors influencing patient satisfaction and an evaluation of current evidence-based methods of increasing it are reviewed. Combining previously effective methods to improve female patient satisfaction, which enable clinicians to use individualised patient-centred communication, can further improve patient satisfaction.
