Neuroethics research intersects with dynamic academic disciplines in the sciences, engineering and humanities. On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the International Neuroethics Society, this article identifies current and future themes in neuroethics and discusses the many social and political challenges that are emerging from the converging dynamics of neurotechnology and artificial intelligence. It also highlights the need for a global, transdisciplinary and integrated community of scientists to address the challenges that are being accelerated by the rapid sociotechnological transformation.
