The author tries to show what a person feels when something or someone disappears. What is left behind, how can we call the emptiness we feel, what it brings with it and what it means. Using geometric images and a black line that runs across all the pages, the illustrator makes it clear that everything is interconnected. Everything has a beginning and an end, just as everything has an explanation. Even if something is too difficult for us, there remains the hope that what disappears goes to a place where there is also SOMETHING. As the author says - there is definitely a WHERE. Thanks to such statements, "Where do we go when we disappear?" leaves the reader feeling positive and allows us to believe in happy endings.
