, 'Grandpa's Miracle Island', tells the story of a very sad subject, the study of which, however, can help a child in the future. It is a story about the death of a grandparent put into a beautiful metaphor. Not once in the book does the word "death", "illness" or "old age" appear, and yet the reader can perfectly read the author's intentions. It is a story about saying goodbye, but not one of sadness and longing. It is a pleasant farewell during which a loved one remains in the most beautiful place in the world. Grandpa stays on an island where he doesn't need a cane, is healthy, can relax all day and spend time with his friends. Syd, or the little character in the book, sees that his grandfather is happy and that is the most important thing to him. At his request leaves him on the island, and returns home himself. However, the beautiful touch that the author leaves for the reader at the end of the book suggests that the boy will always remember his grandfather, and he will live on in his memory. This is the most beautiful thing we can give to those who are no longer with us.
