"Two Hearts of an Angel" shows Wojciech Widłak - author of "Pan Kuleczka", "Wesołego Ryjek" and other cheerful books - from a slightly different side. However, despite the serious problem raised here, this is a cheerful and hopeful book, full of the author's typical affectionate humour.
Paweł Pawlak's illustrations, in a characteristic - two-tone - and unusual for the artist colour scheme, provide an interesting interpretation of the story.
When Romek was six years old, he found himself in hospital and was told that he had a ventricular septal defect. This is a serious heart defect. Now Romek is a few years older. He is not allowed to get tired, so he cannot play football or run. Despite the serious problem - the book is cheerful and hopeful, full of warm humour, characteristic of Wojciech Widłak.
