"Maya from the Moon" touches on the difficult problem when one of the children in a family is seriously ill. The story is told from the point of view of the other, healthy child - six-year-old Ali. The girl is lost and left alone by adults who are unable to talk to her about illness and death. Searching for answers, Ala invents a fairy tale in which her sick sister is the Princess of the Moon who will soon return to the Moon Kingdom - a frail, pale creature surrounded by servants in white aprons. Letting her imagination run wild, Ala weaves colourful fantasies of Mai's cosmic adventures.
