It is a comprehensive work, covering more than 80 years of the author's family and professional history, falling during very turbulent and interesting periods in the history of Poland and Europe - the years of World War II, the difficult times of the Polish People's Republic and, finally, the time of democratic changes and the expansion of the European Union. Against this background, we observe the author as a pupil, student, doctor and humanist in Poland and in Switzerland.
