This book is a selection of the most interesting, moving, unusual and surprising events witnessed by its author, Wiesław Mikuś, an anaesthesiologist working in hospitals in Zamość, Szczebrzeszyn and Biłgoraj.
As a man who likes people and knows how to listen to them, he has had the opportunity to learn many amazing stories and now conveys them with flair, using colourful and vivid language. A passage quoted by the author from an incident heard from the husband of one of his patients illustrates this brilliantly: "Oh that poor boob... That boob... I'm telling you now. Now it's so red and pointy and bigger than the other one. And the skin on it is stretched as if it's going to burst under the pressure of that fat that's sitting inside. And the nipple, you know, the one at the end, it's so thickened, darker than the other one and... you can't touch it because it hurts terribly... It's so burnt... She has always had these tits like sculpted... They are like big grapefruits, perfectly round, with skin without a single flaw... And so firm that if you poked at them with your finger on one side, you could clearly see how a wave - like on water - spontaneously flows to the other side of the tit. (...) What to what? Oh well, I'll say 'breast'. So this breast... (...) The explosion that occurred in the kitchen blew the entire contents of the saucepan into the air! I didn't know what was happening! You could hear the clink of glass, the clatter of pots on the floor, the whole kitchen was filled with steam, something was falling apart, my papers were flying in the air, spices from the shelves and cutlery were flying too, Terenia was squealing, pieces of cooked meat were flying around the kitchen... And carrots!!! (...) All I could see was that my wife had on her dress - somewhere like her right cy... breast - full of carrots with celery cut into strips, small amounts of meat fibres and she was doused in hot, greasy stock from the pot".
