The present work is a discussion and analysis of the rights belonging to the patient under Polish law. Particular attention is paid to two of them, which, according to the author, constitute the basis of these rights, and at the same time are violated in many cases. These rights are: the patient's right to information and the patient's right to consent to medical services. The work consists of three chapters. The first chapter deals with the basic issues of this topic (such as the concept of the patient's right, the minor patient, the incapacitated patient). The second chapter focuses on the patient's right to information (regulated in the Act on Patient's Rights and Patient's Rights Ombudsman as well as in specific acts). The third chapter is devoted to the patient's right to consent to the provision of health care. The focus is not only on the patient's rights, but also on the obligations incumbent on healthcare providers in relation to these rights.
