The article addresses the issue of the patient's consent as a civil law event, the form of consent, types of consent, i.e. proper, substitutive, cumulative and defective consent. The author explains the issue of the patient's consent to a medical procedure. He addresses the contentious issue of liability for infringement of the patient's personal rights. She points out that the issue of consent for medical treatment is difficult as the legal specification in Poland does not regulate the contentious issues which in fact most often arise in the patient-doctor relationship.
