The book discusses issues concerning:- medical and legal definition of biological medicines,- biosimilar medicines in clinical practice,- substitution of medicines in the context of patient rights,- biological medicines in EU legislation and in selected regulations and guidelines from other countries. The publication organises the current state of knowledge on biological therapies and biosimilar medicines. It includes articles by experts in the fields of law, medicine, pharmacy and pharmacology providing commentary on the Patient Ombudsman's decision of 11.06.2018 on the choice of drug for therapy. The authors also refer to the position of the research team adopted as part of the scientific debate at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University on the safety of the use of biological therapies.
