Communication between medical staff and their patients is not easy due to different regulations and complex emotional situations. Therefore, this type of communication depends on choosing the right way to communicate and the choice of words. Teaching communication skills to healthcare professionals is absolutely essential and should be carried out according to the latest knowledge and standards developed in many countries. The Clinical Communication Centre was established in Bydgoszcz to meet the needs and expectations of Polish medical staff. In cooperation with the European Association for Communication in Healthcare, the Centre is to design and develop clinical communication curricula and adapt them to existing resources and needs in Poland. The Centre for Clinical Communication also plans to train trainers to teach communication skills to future and active medical staff according to the highest international standards.
