This article presents selected theoretical models of the doctor-patient relationship. Attempts are made to identify the components of these models in the current doctor-patient relationship. Attention was drawn to the dehumanisation of medicine as a negative consequence of modern patient care. The lack of patient communication skills and the need for joint training and relationship development with patients was discussed. Introduction of training for all doctors in communicating with patients. Social implications: ensuring the patient has sufficient time during the medical visit.
