The subject of this article is the social consequences of the technologisation of modern medicine in the area of medical care, with particular emphasis on the doctor-patient relationship, as well as the experiences of the sick. The author discusses selected specific analytical threads, falling within this problem area, concerning the depersonalisation of medical care, e-health issues, taking into account the impact of information and communication technology (ICT) on the subjectivity of patients in medical treatment processes, as well as the impact of modern technologies on the ways of experiencing illness. Sociomedical analyses with this profile document a significant reconstruction of social interactions related to the delivery of medical care, as well as a redefinition of a number of key concepts in the problem area of health, illness and medical care as a result of the application of modern technologies in medicine.
