The authors consider the relationship between doctor and patient. This multifaceted interaction can always carry within it the hallmarks of conflict. The authors identify several of these, highlighting their historical origins. The current role of the doctor is a difficult one, not
he is no longer the sole oracle in terms of health and illness. Similarly, the patient is not a person who passively submits to the doctor's decisions. One area of conflict is economic. It is here that the patient's financial possibilities come into contact with the costs of treatment, including
pharmacotherapy, as prescribed by the doctor. The authors suggest possible small opportunities to weaken conflicts through, among other things, factual argumentation and partner treatment of the patient.
